Using your eSIM in North Macedonia
Mobile data in North Macedonia
Check the airport shuttle times, message your Skopje host and keep your Ohrid booking on the same plan. A compatible, unlocked phone installs the virtual sim card after you buy online, with no physical SIM to collect at the airport. That suits tourists and family visits alike.

On your own schedule.Ohrid, North Macedonia
Skopje: sort the shuttle before you land.
Skopje International Airport links to the shuttle timetable through its bus page. Check the departure that fits your flight and the city stop nearest your bed, then save both before you leave the terminal. Recheck the return time for your travel day.
The Stone Bridge crosses the Vardar between the city's older and newer halves. Use it to get your bearings, but send a precise pin when meeting someone near the Old Bazaar. A named shop or café beats a broad map area every time.
A data-only eSIM fetches reservations and runs messaging apps. If your host only takes ordinary calls, line up another contact method before arrival or check what your regular line charges.
Save before you goYour chosen shuttle departure and stop, the accommodation entrance and a backup way to reach your host.
Ohrid: pin your room before you wander.
St. John at Kaneo stands above Lake Ohrid, with the old town and fortress within walking distance. Save your exact entrance and route before setting out; a waterfront pin won't identify a room higher in the old town.
For a boat trip, message the operator to confirm the meeting point, departure and return. Keep the booking on your phone and check conditions with the operator. Don't count on signal once you've left shore.
Lake Ohrid is shared with Albania. These plans cover North Macedonia only, so crossing the border needs its own coverage. On the included side, the same eSIM serves Skopje and Ohrid wherever the supported network reaches.
Save before you goThe guesthouse entrance, walking map and any boat booking with the exact meeting point and return time.
Matka: fix your way back before setting off.
Matka Lake sits near Skopje, with walking routes and boat trips into the caves. Use your connection before you set out to choose an activity and confirm its meeting point with the operator.
Make the return journey as specific as the trip out: save a checked departure or agree a pickup place and time. If you book a cave trip, confirm what's included and how you get back to the start. A pin for the whole canyon is too vague for a meeting.
Download the map before you enter the canyon and hold off on video uploads if you want the data to last. More gigabytes won't fix reception between rock walls, and a saved route still works with no signal.
Save before you goA downloaded walking map, the exact activity meeting point, operator phone or chat details, and the agreed return time and pickup location. Charge the phone for the journey back to Skopje.
